The
Marian Community of Reconciliation (MCR)
is a Society of Apostolic Life of Diocesan Right, founded on March 25, 1991 in Lima (Peru) by
Luis Fernando Figari,
and canonically erected 20 years after its foundation by His Eminence Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani Thorne, Archbishop of Lima and Primate of Peru.
We are a community of laywomen who, in responding to
Godīs call, have consecrated ourselves to God in order
to serve others in the world. We live a full apostolic
availability, which is to give our entire lives freely
to the evangelization of the whole world.
Looking to Holy Mary, we assume the
mission of living, like Her, an authentic spiritual
motherhood.
The Fraternas (as we are known) assume the
commitments of obedience, celibacy and detachment from
temporal goods in order to be fully available for the
apostolate. Our state of life as laywomen allows us to
be in the middle of the world to announce the Lord Jesus
as the only answer for the human being. Our aim is to
arrive at the heart of today’s culture and to put to the
service of others the gifts and talents with which the
Lord has blessed our community.
We strive to live out our vocation by cooperating
actively with grace, making our daily life a prayer. As
Holy Mary, we seek to respond with a generous and free
Fiat to the Plan of God in all the concrete
circumstances of our life, so that we can conform
ourselves more and more with the Lord Jesus, model of
full humanity.
Currently we are present in various countries of America
and Europe, welcoming in our communities the diversity
and richness that stems from our different cultural
backgrounds.
